Just saw Tommy Emmanuel play a show at the Birchmere in NOVA. While he is obviously a virtuoso guitar player and mindblowing to watch/hear, he also proved to be a great personality. He talked openly to the audience between songs, shared stories, and even provided some tutorials on what he was doing. It was almost like a clinic at times.

When he comes to town do yourself a favor and go see the show. After seeing him you will either quit playing or be incredibly inspired to reach his level of communication with a guitar - he speaks through his instrument as well as anyone I have ever seen.

One of world's best guitarists. I've seen him play live many times over many years, and he just keeps getting better. He used to do a double act years ago with his brother, Phil (a fine guitarist as well), and they were something to behold.

If you get a chance, have a listen to the albums "Endless Road" and "Initiation" - brilliant stuff. Luckily he's an Aussie, and before he gained international status, he toured Australia constantly, so I got to see him a lot. I doubt there's a better finger style guitarist in the world today. He's truly incredible.
